Global Silicon Metal Prices May Continue to Fall in the Future
China's silicon metal market is still affected by the inventory backlog during the Spring Festival holiday. The current mainstream price of silicon metal 3-3-0-3 FOB China port fell by 300 yuan/ton from the beginning of last week to 14,900-15,200 yuan/ton (2050-2100 US dollars/ton). Taking into account the current sluggish domestic and international market demand, the price of China's mainstream metal silicon 3-3-0-3 is expected to fall further next week.
The FOB price of silicon metal 4-4-1 is currently US$1,950-2,000/ton.
The FOB price of silicon metal 5-5-3 is currently US$1880-1930/ton.
Similarly, the transaction volume of metallic silicon in markets such as Japan, Brazil, and India has also declined to varying degrees.
Hainan West Asia Group comments that in the first quarter of this year, inquiries for silicon metal decreased significantly compared with before, and the market maintained a wait-and-see attitude.
