Indonesia Export Taxes On Nickel
LME nickel prices rose sharply at November 14. Market rumored that the reason was due to an explosion at China's nickel plant in Indonesia and the Indonesian government going to levy export taxes on nickel products, but both have been denied. Various claims about the Indonesian nickel product tax policy spread in the market, but Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati confirmed to the media at the G20 summit that the planned carbon tax will be delayed until 2025. Export taxes on nickel pig iron and ferronickel and subsidies for electric vehicle purchases are still under study.
