Brazil's manganese ore exports fell 40.2% year-on-year from January to October 2022
According to the latest statistics released by Brazil's foreign trade department, the total export of manganese ore in the global market in October was 101,697 tons, down 38.2% month-on-month and 9.5% year-on-year. From January to October 2022, Brazil’s manganese ore exports totaled 970,859 tons, a sharp drop of 40.2% year-on-year compared to the same period last year (1,623,399 tons in total).
Affected by the downturn in the market and high container shipping costs, Brazil's manganese ore container exports fell sharply. In October, the total container volume was 8,588 tons, accounting for only 8.4% of the total export volume, and the bulk carrier export volume was 93,107 tons, accounting for 91.6% of the total export volume. Of the container shipments in October, 5,823 tons were exported to China, and the rest was mainly exported to Vietnam.
The bulk carriers are mainly exported to China and India. In October 2022, Brazil's top three exporting countries are China, India and Vietnam, with a volume of 74,305 tons, 23,555 tons and 2,609 tons respectively.
