There is almost no commercial activity in the European base alloy market
With the arrival of summer, the off-season in the European manganese and silicon alloy market is becoming more pronounced, and more and more market participants are taking summer breaks. Silicon iron prices remain unchanged, while manganese alloys continue to decline
The quotation for silicon manganese (65% Mn; 17% Si) has dropped to 1200-1250 euros/ton DDP, compared to 1240-1300 euros/ton DDP a week ago. The quotation for high carbon manganese iron (75% Mn) is 1260-1300 euros/ton DDP (previously 1280-1320 euros/ton DDP). Prices in India have plummeted, but shipping costs still cannot attract buyers to purchase.
The latest price of silicon iron (75% Si) still fluctuates within the previous range of 1450-1500 euros/ton DDP. Therefore, despite insufficient demand, European prices remain stable due to the high prices of imported alloys, especially those from Asia and Kuwait.
