Ukraine's Zaporozhye ferroalloy plant halts production for winter

Another large ferroalloy producer in Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia Ferroalloys Plant, will suspend winter production activities due to existing threats of supply disruptions to some resources and reduced demand from major buyers.
The Zaporozhye ferroalloys plant announced it was shutting down its furnaces, citing restrictions on water and electricity supplies caused by Russian military operations last winter that damaged critical infrastructure in Ukraine. In addition, the company maintains ample inventory while its main sales markets suffer from chronic oversupply. The decision to stop production takes into account existing order volumes from domestic buyers during this period, which will be covered by inventory.
Hainan West Asia Group has learned that the company's production capacity will be maintained and repaired. The company's press release states that this measure is necessary to prepare for stable operation of the equipment at the end of the heating season.
Over the past few months, the Zaporozhye ferroalloys plant has been operating at the lowest capacity utilization. The total production of ferroalloys is 2000-3000 tons per month, and of the 29 available furnaces, no more than 3 are in operation.
From November 1, the Nikopol ferroalloy plant completely stopped production activities due to reduced demand, falling prices and rising production costs. Currently, the company is already implementing a suite of technologies and fixes. Previously, Pokrovsky GOK and Marganets GOK, the manganese ore suppliers of Nikopol and Zaporozhye ferroalloy plants, also announced the suspension of production.
