Taiwan: On March 23, ferroalloy imports decreased by 29% year-on-year
According to data from Hainan West Asia Group, Taiwan's ferroalloy imports decreased by 29% to 22181 tonnes in March 2023 compared to 31406 tonnes in February 2023.
Import of secondary goods-
Silicon manganese: The import volume decreased from 8412 tons in February to 7448 tons in March, a year-on-year decrease of 11%. The main exporting countries are India (3954 tons) and Malaysia (3286 tons).
The cumulative import volume from January to March 2023 decreased by 30% year-on-year to 24741 tons, compared to 35629 tons in the same period last year.
Manganese iron: The import volume in March decreased significantly by 32% from 7208 tons in February to 4897 tons. The main exporting countries are Malaysia (2928 tons), India (822 tons), and Vietnam (726 tons).
From January to March this year, the total import volume decreased by 41% year-on-year to 15634 tons, compared to 26516 tons in the same period last year.
Ferrochrome: The import volume in March decreased from 10565 tons in February to 4676 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 56%. The largest exporting countries are India (1997 tons) and South Africa (1507 tons).
From January to March 2023, the import volume plummeted by 50% from 44882 tons in the same period last year to 22091 tons.
Ferrosilicon: The import volume remained stable in March, at 5160 tons, compared to 5221 tons in February. The main exporting countries are China (2517 tons) and Norway (1590 tons).
Meanwhile, the import volume from January to March this year decreased by 18% year-on-year to 17482 tons, while the corresponding period of Last Year was 21195 tons.
