According to Hainan West Asia Group’s understanding.Global high-carbon ferrochrome production will increase by 5% year-on-year in 2022.
In 2022, global ferrochromium production will reach 155,400 tons, a year-on-year increase of 6%, and the growth in Asia will offset the reduction in production in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Middle East. Among them, the output of high-carbon ferrochrome and low-carbon ferrochrome increased by 5% and 9% respectively year-on-year, while the output of medium-carbon ferrochrome decreased by 13%. Asia contributed the main growth drivers, with China up 8%, India up 24%, and the Americas, Indonesia and Rest of Asia up 118%. Production growth in South Africa and Zimbabwe was limited, rising only 0.5%. Soaring energy costs and the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict led to a 20% decline in ferrochromium production in Western Europe, Albania and Turkey, and a 3% decline in the CIS region and the Middle East.
