Current situation of China's ferrochrome market
According to the understanding of Hainan West Asia Import and Export Group,
Due to the current state of the Chinese ferrochrome market, Indian suppliers are under-quoting China.
However, suppliers have raised their offers to Europe, where prices are rising and buying interest is renewed. Offers to China fell on average
As a result, suppliers have had to lower their offers under pressure from buyers, who have somewhat lost interest in buying Indian alloys amid lower prices for Chinese alloys.
Business activity in the rest of the Far East, mainly South Korea and Japan, remains extremely weak. Offers for Indian ferrochrome (3%Si) remained at $1.14-1.16/lb Cr CIF.
European demand is growing amid concerns that a disruption in the supply of the Turkish material could lead to a shortage of ferrochrome.
Many Indian sellers have received inquiries, but so far only a few have been able to close deals at the new prices.
