Instructions on Hainan Visa free Entry

Since March 15, 2023, Hainan has resumed the visa free entry policy of 59 countries suspended since January 2020 due to the COVID-19. On June 29, 2023, the Entry and Exit Management Bureau of the Hainan Provincial Public Security Department issued the "Notice for Hainan Visa Free Entry Personnel", which includes the following content：

Legal Obligations
1. You are permitted to stay in Hainan for up to 30 days after your visa-free entry. You shall not overstay or travel to other areas of Chinese Mainland without permission during the stay. If you need to extend your stay in Hainan or travel to other areas of Chinese Mainland with valid reasons, you shall apply for a visa to the exit-entry administration authorities of Hainan’s public security organs

2. Extension of Stay or Travel to other areas of Chinese Mainland
If you need to extend your stay in Hainan or travel to other areas of Chinese Mainland for valid reasons, you shall apply for a stay visa to the exit and entry administration authority of Hainan’s public security organ. Upon examination and approval, the exit-entry administration authority may issue a corresponding stay permit for you. You may continue to stay in Hainan or travel to other areas of Chinese Mainland with the stay visa issued.

59 countries include Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Norway, Ukraine, Italy, Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Monaco, Belarus.
