The 2023 Annual Meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia kicked off on the 28th in Boao, Hainan

The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023 kicked off in Boao, Hainan province on March 28. Hainan, which plans to implement the "Global Free Trade Port Partnership Program", will hold a number of activities at the Forum annual meeting to actively expand the   international relationship of friends of the free trade port.

This year marks the tenth year since China declared the construction of pilot free trade zones. Hainan is now the only free trade port with Chinese characteristics in China. This year's Hainan Provincial Government work report proposed that Hainan should be integrated into the network of international free trade zones with high standards.

This year, Hainan will host the Global Free Trade Port Development Forum for the third time under the framework of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference. Under the theme of "institutional openness and Free trade", representatives from Hong Kong, Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, Jeju International Free City, Sihanoukville Free Zone and 20 pilot free trade zones in mainland China will be widely invited to participate, and strive to jointly launch an initiative on building a global Free Trade Area (Hong Kong) partnership.

In February this year, delegations from Hainan Province visited Indonesia and Vietnam and held a promotion meeting on the Hainan Free Trade Port. Hainan has signed 13 cooperation projects with Indonesia and 19 with Vietnam, covering such areas as opening international air routes, tropical agriculture, tourism, investment and cross-border e-commerce. Under the leadership of the Secretary of Hainan Provincial Party Committee, Hainan West Asia Group also participated in the trade promotion.
